Payroll Assistant – Brecon

We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our Payroll Team based in our Brecon office. Working alongside the Payroll Manager you’ll be assisting with all aspects of payroll for a wide range of clients. Accuracy is a must in a role like this. We are also looking for a ‘can-do’ attitude, enthusiasm and confidence. You will be interacting with our clients if they have any payroll queries so you will need to be approachable, helpful and understanding.

Reporting to our Payroll Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Work closely with the Payroll Manager and our Accounts Team
  • Assist with weekly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Complete payroll journals
  • Respond to queries in relation to pay
  • Call handling for the Payroll Team
  • Assist with queries from our Accounts Team
  • Provide cover for the Payroll Manager in periods of absence

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Previous payroll experience - either running payroll or as an administrator
  • Excellent communication skills as you will work closely with other departments and clients
  • Good IT skills (Experience with Sage Payroll would be beneficial)
  • Understanding tax codes, SSP, SMP, SPP, P32’s
  • Able to keep up to date with payroll changes in law

This role is full time, working 35 hours a week from our Brecon office.
